Tornado causes damage in northeast Philadelphia.The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado is responsible for damage to buildings in northeast Philadelphia Wednesday afternoon. The strong wind is caused by sections of the Delaware Valley trail left by flash floods in some areas. The National Weather Service (NWS) has confirmed an EF-0 tornado landed at about 1:50 pm in the 9900 block of Northeast AvenueDestruction of a building several businesses. According to the NWS, the damaging winds estimated at 75 miles per hour and was about 100 meters wide. The tornado was on the floor for about 300 buildings feet.The quickly evacuated and no injuries were reported. The last time a tornado hit in Philadelphia on January 18, 1999 - It was an EF-0. In parts of Montgomery County, the flooding and emergency services were called to help people stranded in histheir cars. a driver, the 3000 block of Bartram Road stuck in Willow Grove, had two more from their vehicles along the 3000 block of Blair Mill Road Horsham pulled.
