Global warming effects on extreme weather events - Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming - 07/10/2008 - In the aftermath of the hurricanes in America and around the world, and with Bertha strengthening the first hurricane of the season's extreme weather conditions on the minds of people around the world. And while storms, floods and droughts have always occurred, the state of the science of our changing climate as a real impact on the severity and frequency of extreme weather eventsEvents. Extreme rainfall in North America have risen sharply in the past 50 years. In the past ten years, the west and southwest regions drought, the impact of farming experience and contribute to the wildfire epidemic in the western United States. On Thursday, President Edward J.
